Help Over Hurdles is a one of a kind non-profit that financially assists Disability Professionals throughout the state of Indiana. Below are some examples of professionals we have assisted.
In 2016, Help Over Hurdles conducted a survey of disability professionals throughout Indiana
- Direct Support Professional (DSP) is a person who assists an individual with a disability to lead a self-directed life and contribute to the community, assists with activities of daily living if needed, and encourages attitudes and behaviors that enhance community inclusion.
- Management (a.k.a. Coordinator, Program Manager, Director, Quality Enhancement Specialist, etc.) is a person who assists not only individuals with disabilities, but manages DSPs, stays in contact with families, case management and ensures reports, medications and High Risk Plans are properly taken care of.
- Behavioral Therapist is a person with a Master's degree education that assists with identifying and helping change unhealthy behaviors by focusing on replacement strategies.

- 39% having obtained a Bachelors or Masters degree
- 74% work full time
- 17% do not have health insurance
- 68% of people surveyed said financial stress was one of the most challenging obstacles to being the best possible direct support provider they could be
